About Me

Angela Holland is a published Freelance Illustrator, Writer and Textile Designer living and working in Nottingham in the UK. She has a B.A Hons in Fashion and Textiles, specialising in Surface Pattern Design and a master’s degree in Children’s Writing.

Angela designs for cards, jigsaws, calendars, wrapping paper, editorial features, children’s illustration and textiles. She also writes and illustrates for children’s books and children’s magazines.

Her artwork is a mixture of traditional and digital medium, using painted and printed textures which are adapted digitally to create a rich and atmospheric feeling of depth, texture, and fantasy. Her character work has been described as ‘quirky and fun.’

Food and Textile illustrations have been featured in Uppercase magazine. Her textile designs were chosen by Uppercase Magazine and featured in the third edition of a hundred established ‘up and coming textile designers.’

Angela has written and illustrated for Mighty Kind Kid’s Magazine. With a four-page spread of illustrations, an activity page and a children’s story entitled ‘Street Symphony.’  Her illustrations have been used by The World Health Organisation, Woman Kind Magazine, Uppercase Magazine, Best of British Magazine, Psychology Lab and Sentizo Magazine. She has also been the overall winner of two design competitions, Print me Pretty and Doodle Addicts.

Her card designs are used by Woodmansterne and other major card design companies. A recent jigsaw puzzle design is to be published and printed by Ravensburger Puzzles.

She has illustrated for various published children’s books and is currently working on her own children’s picture book called ‘Tiny Red and the Crack Pot Croc’. She is also illustrating for another exciting children’s book about a spider.

Her children’s illustrations, editorial and textile designs, have been featured on Lilla Roger’s ‘Make Art that Sells’ on-line course, and tipped as ‘Lilla’s Top picks.’ She is a firm advocate of the Make Art That Sells courses.
