Angela Holland is a Freelance Illustrator, Fine Artist and Textile Designer living and working in her studio in Nottingham in the UK. She has a B.A Hons in Fashion and Textiles, specialising in Surface Pattern Design. She also has a Master’s in Children’s Writing.
She designs for cards, wrapping paper, fabric and textiles, but also fine art on canvas. One of her big aims is the children’s book market, writing and illustrating children’s books.
Angela works in different medium, including mono-print, inks, gouache, water colours and acrylic. She uses painted textures and fine art painting which she adapts digitally in Photoshop, to create a rich and atmospheric feeling of depth, texture and fantasy.
She has worked for packaging products that were sold in TK Max which were a colourful mix of animal characters designed for Ashby Aromatherapy products which were also featured in ‘Best of British’ Magazine. She has also produced several photo-realistic images that were used in editorial articles for ‘Psychology lab’ magazine. Angela has been the winner of the Doodleaddicts design competition with her scenic design called ‘Greens are good for you’ which was published on the front cover of the ‘Seed Savers’ of Ireland annual calendar. She has won the ‘Print me Pretty’ Textile Design Competition with her submission ‘Naughty’cal which was a playful children’s nursery design. Angela has produced designs for bespoke commissions for furniture and fabrics, blinds and curtains. She also produces fine art work for private commissions.
Angela’s children illustration has been featured on Lilla Roger’s ‘Make Art that Sells, illustrating children’s books on-line course, tipped as ‘Lilla’s Top pick.’
Angela’s textile designs and food illustrations have been featured in Uppercase Magazine.
